Nothing says family time like piling everyone in the car and heading out for a weekend trip! Whether you’re heading to the next town over to visit the local pumpkin patch or off on a 10 hour drive to your favorite fall destination, spending time together is what’s important. The gals behind the pink door love a weekend getaway, so we thought we would share a few of our favorites with y’all.
- Charleston, South Carolina: From spicy grits to art museums to historical walking tours, there is no doubt that Charleston has something in store for everyone. We particularly love this destination in the fall for its perfect temperatures and Halloween festivities. Charleston is deeply rooted in history and offers several “spooky” themed tours around the city. Our favorite is Boone Hall Plantation’s Fright Night with haunted hay rides, a corn maze and pumpkin carving – some fall fun for the entire family.
- Cape Cod, Massachusetts: The Cape is renowned for it’s fall foliage; it’s the best of both worlds with red, orange and yellow tree lined drives not a mile away from the crisp, cool beach. A favorite Cape Cod attraction among locals and tourists alike is the cranberry bog tour and pumpkin patch. There are also several nature trails to check out while you’re visiting to grasp the full foliage and enjoy the pleasant temperatures.
- Stowe, Vermont: For those seeking a cozy weekend getaway filled with lots of warm autumnal drinks and colorful leaves, pack your bags and head to Stowe. This place is the definition of fall charm and inviting for the entire family. The whole village is picturesque and boasts hay rides, apple picking and pumpkin carving the month of October.
- Seaside, Florida: If a warmer destination is what your family needs this season, then Seaside is the prime spot for y’all. With less crowds than summer months, this is the perfect time of year to visit this beautiful 30A beach. Rent bikes for the day (or entire weekend) and take in the sunshine while riding through the bright, quaint streets.
